At Metro Builders Memphis, our commitment to creating accessible living spaces extends to helping those who have been injured on the job. Recently, we had the opportunity to build a custom addition for an injured worker, making his home fully accessible and tailored to his needs.

Supporting Recovery with Thoughtful Design

Work-related injuries can significantly impact a person’s life, often requiring modifications to their living environment to maintain independence and quality of life. Fortunately, Workman’s Compensation insurance is available to cover the costs of necessary home modifications for injured workers, ensuring they have a safe and accessible space to call home.

The Project: Building for Comfort and Accessibility

This project involved constructing a specialized addition to the injured worker’s home. Given that he is now confined to a wheelchair, our focus was on creating a space that would allow him to move freely and comfortably throughout his home.

  • Customized Living Space: We designed and built an addition that seamlessly integrates with the existing home, featuring accessible doorways, a roll-in shower, and lowered countertops, all tailored to accommodate the client’s needs.

  • Wheelchair Accessibility: To ensure the worker could easily enter and exit his home, we installed ramps that provide smooth, effortless access. These ramps are built with durability in mind, ensuring long-term reliability and safety.

The Impact: Empowering Independence

The completion of this addition has made a profound difference in the injured worker’s daily life. With the new modifications, he can now navigate his home with ease, perform daily tasks more independently, and enjoy a greater sense of comfort and security.

A Commitment to Quality and Care

At Metro Builders Memphis, we understand the challenges faced by those who have suffered life-altering injuries. Our goal is to provide high-quality, customized solutions that enhance accessibility and improve quality of life. Every project we undertake is driven by a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.

We are honored to be a part of this journey toward recovery and independence, and we look forward to continuing our work in creating accessible, welcoming spaces for those in need.
